George Lawson

Founding Pastor

George is married to his wife, Karen, and together they have four children and four grandchildren.

In 2002, George and his family planted Maranatha Community Church in Colton, California. By early 2020, Maranatha was still a small church but growing in attendance, membership, giving, and ministry outreach.

Like many churches across the nation, however, Maranatha was deeply impacted by COVID, eventually leading to the church closing its doors in 2023.

After much prayer and counsel, George and Karen sensed God’s leading to reopen Maranatha as a home church in Moreno Valley.

George serves as a bi-vocational pastor, meaning he is not financially supported by the church and relies on outside income, serving his hometown of Moreno Valley as a Realtor for the past 16 years.

Above all, George is passionate about sharing the gospel, discipling believers to become disciple-makers, and planting new churches.
